Sometimes when problems come my way it's so easy to think to myself, "Why is this happening to me?" "Why isn't God saving me from this?" "Do I need more faith?" "Why do my prayers seem to go unanswered?" So when I read this tonight, I was reminded that I am not the first to ask these questions. It made me think of how big and powerful God is - big and powerful enough to handle my questions.

Today's Winner

I wish I had the same luck with the lottery or slot machines that I have with web banner ads. I was informed by yet another site today that I am today's winner. I get this all the time; I guess I just have the magic touch or something. Combined with the free software I'm going to get from forwarding all those e-mail messages, things are really going my way.

Field Trip!

This past Saturday we took a field trip to Oakland to visit some of my favorite places. We started off in the Strip District for chocolate (and a chance to practice my Spanish on the Ecuadorians selling sweaters in the market); then went to La Fiesta Restaurant for lunch (real Mexican food and another chance to practice my Spanish!); then we continued on to the Phipps Conservatory, where we got to see and take pictures of a lot of awesome plants and flowers; then we continued to the library so that I could take out some Spanish novels so that I can keep practicing during the week. Do you sense a theme here? Spanish and flowers on an outing with friends. That's my kind of day!
