What have we been up to?

Apologies to everyone -- it's been far too long since we updated the site. We've been quite busy over the past few months, and there was plenty of material for weblog posts, we just didn't take the time. So, for Mom and anyone else who checks the site with any frequency: please forgive us.
I'm thinking I'm going to find some other blog software to replace the current one. The makers of Movable Type have placed some bothersome restrictions on the newer versions, and lately I've been getting a lot of "comment spam" that I have to manually delete. So something new with wiki-like markup and comment filtering would be nice.
